Brazil Selic Rate
The Selic is Brazil's benchmark interest rate, set by COPOM (the Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Brazil) every ~45 days. It anchors the CDI (Brazil's interbank rate), fixed income, credit, and, indirectly, the stock market and Brazilian REITs (FIIs). Here you can see the current value, the decision history, and when the next meeting is — all updated automatically by the server.

Data sources
All data collected automatically from public databases of the Central Bank of Brazil, with no manual intervention:
- Selic target and decision history: Time Series Management System (SGS), series 432 — the COPOM Selic target.
- CDI: SGS series 4389 (annualized DI rate).
- IPCA accumulated over 12 months: SGS series 433.
- Meeting calendar: official COPOM schedule published by the Central Bank.
- Market expectations: Focus Bulletin of the Central Bank — a weekly survey of more than 130 financial institutions; we use the median projection for the Selic at the next meeting. This is not the site's opinion: it is the market consensus measured by the Central Bank.
When the page updates
On normal days, once a day. On COPOM decision days (always a Wednesday), the server polls the Central Bank periodically late in the afternoon and, as soon as the new rate is published, updates this page and sends a notification to all users informing them whether the Selic was hiked, cut, or held.
The Selic target (set by COPOM) is the policy reference. The Selic over (effective rate) typically sits a few basis points below the target on a day-to-day basis.
