This portfolio recalibration was redone: use the updated version

The content published on this page on August 7 can be disregarded. The valid portfolio is the one in the update.

Notice. This recalibration has been redone. The engine that produced the composition published here contained a flaw, and the reasoning written alongside each asset did not hold up when the numbers were run again. This article can be disregarded. The valid portfolio is the updated one: Recommended FII Portfolios: The August Update and the New Mixed Portfolio.

What Happened

On August 7, 2026, a recalibration of the recommended FII portfolios was published here. Upon review, three justifications did not match what the funds' documents stated—and the cause was the selection engine, not the drafting. The run was redone from scratch with the corrected engine, and the result entirely replaces what was on this page. There are not two recalibrations: there is one, and it is the updated version.

What the Updated Version Includes

There are seven portfolios instead of six. The new addition is the Mixed portfolio, which seeks both income and capital appreciation from the same fund rather than choosing between the two—an asset enters it based on the harmonic mean of its income and capital scores, a calculation that prevents a weak leg from hiding behind a strong one. The other six portfolios were recomposed using a stricter yardstick: metrics measured from historical data at each round rather than read from an outdated field, a minimum verdict of ACCUMULATE for a fund to qualify, and a concentration cap accounting for economic groups rather than corporate entities.

The update also provides the quarterly score against the IFIX, detailing successes and failures by name, the additions and removals for each portfolio along with the reasoning for each change, and the taxes calculated over the period.
